Helping Writers Become Published within the Romance Publishing Industry

“Beginnings: The Start to Your Story ”
INSTRUCTOR: Alicia Rasley
DATES: October 7 – October 20, 2007

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

You’ve decided to throw caution to the wind. You’re finally ready to start that book you’ve always wanted to write. Pen in hand or fingers on keyboard, you fight with the opening sentences, paragraphs, or even pages. It has to be perfect and this is only the beginning. How can you make millions fall in love with your books when you can’t seem to find the right beginning?

Award-winning author and nationally known workshop instructor Alicia Rasley presents a 2-week online workshop to help you learn exactly what beginnings are all about: grabbing the reader from page one and not letting them go until the last page has been read.
Workshop Lessons Include:

1.  The purpose of the beginning
2.  Discovering your character
3.  Raising questions
4.  Activating conflict
5.  Setting up the ordinary world
6. The all-important first paragraph

The course is conducted via online discussion at Yahoo Groups.  Upon receipt of payment, an invitation to join the Yahoo loop will be sent via email.  The workshop will be available for one week after the end date to allow downloading of class lessons.

No refunds can be made for anything other than class cancellation by the instructor or HOD. Should you not be able to take the class after you have registered, payment can be applied to a future HOD online course. HOD reserves the right to limit the number of participants in the class.
